Very nice, charming and hard-working couple, they wanted a beautiful, fitting and appropriate piece to finish off the swimming pool back yard while diminishing the view of their neighbors’ houses.

It’s really cool and satisfying building these various styles and designs when you know what you’re doing! Being able to walk up upon any jobsite and know the right way to build whatever style or design the customer likes, is an earned confidence and an enjoyment. When they see a pretty picture from somewhere else on the Internet (that has structural or design flaws) I let ’em know how I’d build it right and why and what’s wrong with the example in their photo. They don’t always like to hear it, but they would really hate it if I built the crappy but pretty fence or gate, only to fail or warp out of alignment in the future.

Thanks for the compliments! Lot’s of time and experience learned the hard way, but the sure way which is the best. Your Bay Area market should be much like the Los Angeles market in as much as many people want a cool and unique build. The days of the new suburbs and easy dog ear fences for miles are almost over, I came from that.
As a builder, if you can recognize a 2×4 and a 1×6, etc. in a photo, then yeah my photos should help alot. That was also part of my plan. NOT going to sell out with how to info to DIYers on everything. Let us tradesmen have a job while the world goes partially wrong by displacing live personnel (that need to support their families plus they contribute to the economy) with mindless & stupid machines & computers and unnecessary automation.
